About

Jesus says something very significant in His famous sermon on the mount. He tells us that we are the light of the world. Wherever we go, Jesus asks us to let our light shine before men so that it may glorify our Father in heaven. So often we see around us destruction, cruelty and bitterness - things we refer to as darkness. Darkness is the absence of light. Think about that for a moment… if darkness is the absence of light, and Jesus says we are the light of the world, then I ask myself, where is my light shining? Sometimes it can feel like our lights are hidden, or drowned out by the darkness of this world. Shining our lights can feel like it falls short of the world’s eyes, like it hardly makes a difference.

But I believe it does make a difference! Everything we do, big or small, to bring glory to the Father, matters! The bible declares that we are in this world but not of this world. So how do we bring the bible into our modern world without making it of this world? I believe God’s Word is completely relevant and absolutely timeless. Therefore, my hope is to display the truths of God’s word in a way that is fresh, modern and contemporary, without taking anything away from His written Word. Need a scatter cushion – why not one with scripture on? Need to buy someone a gift – why not something meaningful that tells them the truth about God’s love for them?

In this increasingly secular world, my vision with Mornings&Mercies is to make Jesus visible in daily life. Not just in the hearts of believers, but physically everywhere we go, where we walk, where we visit, where we post on social media, where we come together – to be the city (the light!) at the top of the hill, visible for all the world to see!

I would love to ‘normalise’ seeing Jesus sprinkled into the world around us in a very public and visible way. When someone walks into my home, I want them to know Jesus is my number one… when I walk around in my own house, I want to see the same! When I wear something that relates to Jesus or the bible, I would love it if someone sees it and asks a question – starting conversations about the one thing in this world that matters most!

I hope that you will join me in my passion to make Jesus visible in our beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand.

With love in Jesus Christ
